deja vu

so here we are full circle.

about a year ago when i began this blog, one of my first posts was a lament about the woes of the air conditioner going out in the middle of a hot houston summer.

and here we go again.

it was 110 degrees here yesterday, y'all, and we have no a/c. i called at 6 pm yesterday and made an appointment for the a/c guys to come, and they said no problem, we'll be there between 8 and 11. cool. i also have doctor's appointments for aidan and i - we are both in the throes of upper respiritory infections, complete with hacking cough and snottiness. but here it is 10:00 and the thought occurred to me that maybe they showed up at 8:05, and left because we weren't quite home from the hotel we spent the night in last night. (i got home at 8:10 am!) so i called, and the girl told me that they're running a little behind today, we won't be able to get there til later this afternoon. our appointments are at 1 and 1:30. so i had to reschedule the a/c guys for 3pm, and just hope that we're out of the doctor's office by then. what a day. the only good thing about it is that i'm not at work stressing out about all the new hires and cursing all my coworkers in my head. that does make me happy!

here i am, and a name poll!!!

galveston was great! i'm all tan. the kids loooooved the beach and the pool. pictures will follow. still getting slammed at work. jerry comes home tonight. my sister katie should be going into labor any day now, and has not yet chosen a name for her new daughter.

so i'll take an unofficial poll for her.... i know it's tough, not knowing her last name, but i'll say that it is a one-syllable last name. so knowing that, which name do you like better, audrey or whitney?

small update

sorry for the non-blogging. i'm getting killed at work. to make a long story short (since it's all i have time for, even though i'd love to pour out my complaints on y'all's sympathetic ears....) it's all about hiring 20 teachers in the span of two weeks, including interviewing, background checks, employment verification, and payroll. and dealing with attitudes on all sides. so...

aidan's doing great at daycare - cha cha keeps coming up with different reasons she wants to pick him up early every day, even though i think he should start staying later, like til 3 or so. but i'll address that soon.

we're going to galveston for a couple days, and i'm taking monday and tuesday off work!!! yippee!! we figured saturday thru tuesday at the beach is about all the babies could handle anyway, so then jerry will stay til friday with the big kids, so they can do big kid things without babies around.

anyway, that's life in a nutshell right now.
