Within Me Without Me

land of the living?

so after a month's hiatus, i'm finally resurfacing.

i swear i have whip marks on my back from the crazy slave-driving that's going on over here. to make a long story short, we have 5 HR reps trying to staff a department of over 2000 employees, and it's just really impossible. oh, and one of us has been out on FMLA for 6 weeks - who knows when she's coming back. and i have little or no computer time at home....competition is fierce w/all the kiddos and the hubby!

anyway, i've missed all my bloggy friends! we are slowing down a little over here, so i'll be able to visit you all a little more again.

so for an update: aidan and sadie were both sick last week. aidan had a fever from thursday night all the way until sunday night. sadie was basically one day behind him. no fun. and you know momma got no sleep. up every 2 hours giving someone tylenol or motrin. but we're all well again, thank god.

aidan is doing great in daycare!!! most days he actually runs in the classroom with no problems. he has one favorite teacher, miss kasey, who is there monday, wednesday and friday. so obviously these are the easiest days! but i have been very pleased with his progress, and how much they work with him. and i definitely notice more talking from him too - still delayed a bit, but he's catching up. we got a referral from the doctor for a behavioral diagnostician to see if there is anything else we might need to address, since he is still kind of a loner there.

sadie will be starting at the daycare in 2 weeks. oh, my gosh it was hard to tell cha cha.(our sitter at home.) she cried, y'all. i asked her if she'd like for me to help her find another family to watch their babies, and she told me "oh, no - i'll never be able to watch children again. there will never be another aidan!" talk about feeling guilty. but i know it's the best thing for both of them. it was wonderful to have her keep them at home while they were little, but as they get bigger, i think the interaction and learning they do at the daycare will serve them better. we won't have the speech issues with sadie that we do with aidan, so i know she'll fall right in step there. she's going to have so much fun, i'm excited for her to make friends!

so october 5th is cha cha's last day with us. there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth, i'm afraid to say. i promised her that we will bring the kids to visit her often, and send her pictures, etc. poor lady, i hate that i'm breaking her heart, but it's really for the best.

hhhmmm - what else to say. i feel like i'm just going fast fast fast all the time these days. rushing everywhere, with no time to just relax. last night i went to the store on the way home from work, picked noah up at cce class, came home and made two trays of enchiladas, rice, and beans in about 40 minutes, ate, cleaned the kitchen, did laundry, put the kids to bed, and realized i hadn't even sat down long enough to go to the bathroom since before lunch. a mommy's work is never done.
